A misst ye sae muckle!

Did you know that I have Scottish blood in me? Lots. On my mom's side my grandpa's last name is Lindsay and my grandma's maiden name is McKell, and those are both Scottish names. Cool, huh? Did you know that every year Pacen, Utah, hosts a Scottish festival? I went this year with a group of friends, and we ate haggis (yes, it is what you think it is), watched the caber toss competition, and got henna tattoos. And then we stopped in Provo for some Smart Cookie, of course.:)

Farewell to Frankie

After almost three years together, I sold Frankie the Saab. It's been a while now, a month I think. I haven't been very good about keeping my blog updated or else you would've known all this sooner. Two days before selling Frankie, I bought my new 9-5 Linear (Sorry, no pictures of him yet). Frankie and I shared some good times, but it was time for something more reliable. Now instead of having little windshield wipers for my lights, I have two little R2D2 robots that come out and squirt my lights! I thought my uncle was joking when he told me, but they're real!

Adios Elder Newbold

Dan went into the Provo Missionary Training Center on June 20, 2007. Instead of going to the Madrid MTC after three weeks, he waited it out in Provo and is now in the Arizona Phoenix Mission! He got there Wednesday morning and is now out on the streets of Glendale, pretty much the ghetto of Arizona. I think he'll feel right at home. Yay-Yayee.

Boca Junior

When Carrie and I were in Buenos Aires we had a chance to visit the Boca stadium. It felt like such an honor because during the previous five weeks in Argentina EVERYONE raved about how amazing Boca is and how they never lose. We looked into buying tickets, but it didn't work out with only a few days in BA.

About a week after we got home from Argentina, Carrie calls me and says, "Guess who's coming to Utah!"
"ManĂ¡!"
"No. Now this won't sound as exciting. Guess again."
"Juanez?"
"No. Boca Junior!"

I was way excited and surprised that'd be coming to play little ol' Real. Then we realized how lame we were for not buying jerseys in Argentina! There ended up being a group of eight of us who went to see the world famous Boca Jr. futbol team play. It could've been the perfect night to fall in love, but it didn't rain. And no cool bicyle kicks from Boca the whole night. I was really disappointed in their performance, but I guess nothing made them rise to the occasion to let us see what they were made of. The game ended tied, 1-1.
Oscar Wilde once said, "I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read." Just in case any of you are temporarily lacking in the sensational department of your lives and don't keep a journal, I thought I would share mine with you. Feel free to print out excerpts and take them on trips with you. Now we'll see if I can really deliver!
